This Cancellation Policy applies to all lessons, bookings and test-day services with Ion’s Driving School Ltd. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions and must be read together with them.​

By booking a lesson, you agree to the terms outlined below.​

1. Student Cancellations

1.1 You must give at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson.
1.2 Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice are charged at the full lesson price.
1.3 No refunds are provided for lessons cancelled within 48 hours.
1.4 If you “no-show” for a lesson (arriving more than 15 minutes late, or not being present at the agreed pickup location), the session is deemed fully chargeable with no refund.

2. Lateness

2.1 If you arrive late, your lesson will still end at the scheduled time.
2.2 Lost time due to lateness is not refunded, not credited, and not added to future sessions.
2.3 If you are more than 15 minutes late, the lesson will be classed as a no-show and fully charged.

3. Pickup Location Requirements

3.1 You must provide an accurate pickup location at the time of booking.
3.2 Pickup locations must be within our operating areas and cannot be changed online after booking. If you wish to request a change, you must contact the instructor directly no later than the day before your lesson.

3.4 If the instructor attends the agreed pickup location and you are not there, or if you requested a location change too late for the instructor to reasonably act on it:

• If the new location is within our operating areas, any time spent travelling to the updated address will be deducted from your lesson. No extra time or refund will be provided.

• If the new location is outside our operating areas, the lesson will be treated as a no-show and fully chargeable.

3.5 Updating your pickup location online on the day of your lesson does not guarantee the instructor will receive the

4. Instructor Cancellations

4.1 If we need to cancel, we will give as much notice as reasonably possible, typically at least 24 hours, except in emergencies, illness, or vehicle issues.

4.2 If the instructor cancels, you may rebook the lesson for the next available date with no penalty.

5. Unsafe Weather Conditions

5.1 The instructor is solely responsible for deciding whether weather conditions are safe for driving.
5.2 Students may not cancel due to weather unless the instructor agrees it is unsafe.
5.3 If a lesson is cancelled due to unsafe conditions, the session will be rescheduled without charge.

6. Exceptional Circumstances

6.1 In genuine emergencies or unavoidable situations (such as accidents, urgent medical issues, or hospitalisation), cancellations may be considered without penalty.
6.2 This is at the instructor’s discretion.
6.3 Repeated use of “emergencies” may result in the instructor declining further lessons.

7. DVSA Test Cancellations

7.1 If the DVSA cancels your driving test for reasons beyond your control, you will not be charged for the associated lesson time.
7.2 Proof of the DVSA cancellation may be required.
7.3 You may rebook the session for your new test date without penalty.

8. Repeated Cancellations

8.1 Students who repeatedly cancel, reschedule, or fail to attend lessons may have future bookings declined.
8.2 This applies regardless of whether cancellations were within or outside the 48-hour window.
